I put my syllabi and first-day lectures together in the morning … then cleaned up the beds. Just getting shit straight before the school year begins.
I cleaned out all the green brier bushes & stiltgrass in front of the shed. Freed two cute little pine trees and discovered a maple sapling coming up from where the big one came down. Hopefully they will grow.
And our hummingbird feeder was visited for the first time this morning.
But this post is mostly about documenting. Lucy chased off a deer yesterday– it was eating the stuff growing in the driveway (!) and munching on gaillardia. They must have nothing to eat. They ate a couple of the begonias to the ground, even though they were well deer-proofed 3 weeks ago.
Still some butterflies, but they have tapered off quite a lot.
